Running for Okotoks City Councillor 2025
Biography

Glenn has been a resident of the Town of Okotoks since 2008, relocated from Calgary to be closer to his family where he has thoroughly enjoyed all this Town has to offer. One of the main reasons he would like to give back to his community, starting down the path where he knows he can make the most difference by running for your Town Councillor. Glenn has been involved in the Real Estate industry since 1975 and has successfully established a number of small businesses throughout the years.

As your Councillor for Okotoks, Glenn will be available, transparent, and committed to representing you with honesty and integrity at all times. If elected, Glenn will make the citizens of Okotoks his top priority, and will not back down from the tough matters at hand.

Priorities

Some of the issues I will be addressing during my candidacy to be your Councillor for the Town of Okotoks.

Perimeter Around Okotoks – NEEDED

Traffic has increased and it all comes through town.  We need to set aside land so that a perimeter can be planned for the future.  No further approvals of future subdivision should be approved by the Town of Okotoks until this is in place.

Recoup of Taxes

When the Town of Okotoks had the building cap in place, Okotoks incurred a substantial loss of tax revenue.   Due to this, light industrial projects commenced in Aldersyde – where now Foothills County is reaping the benefits of this transition and collecting these taxes – Foothills County should be required to remit a portion of these taxes to the Town of Okotoks, or very least a discussion to occur.

Recreation

The inability to easily access recreational programs, services and amenities in the Town of Okotoks has become a great concern.   Basic swimming lessons for our youth, ice rinks etc. has become the elusive lottery win.   We need a long-term plan where access to these opportunities for the residents of our Town MUST be the end result.
